Overview
Jamaica’s most decorated athlete, 100m and 200m World record holder and Olympic Champion, Dr. The Hon. Usain Bolt and the Usain Bolt Foundation has partnered with the Jamaica National Foundation to host the third staging of the The JN Foundation Heroes in Action Run/Walk.
The Run which is also endorsed by Dr Hon. Christopher Tufton, MP, Minister of Health and the Hon. Olivia Babsy Grange, MP, CD Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, will take place on Sunday, October 15, 2017 in historic Falmouth, the capital of Trelawny, the birthplace of Usain. The run will start from the Falmouth Cruise Port at 7:00 a.m
The partnership of both foundations illustrates JN’s and Usain’s continued commitment to the elderly and rural development. Funding will ensure that the residents of the Trelawny infirmary will have access to the kind of environment that promotes physical and emotional well-being.
Participants will engage in either a 4K Fun Run or a 10K Run. The 4K Fun Run, which is geared towards the family, is designed for both walkers and runners and will showcase four fun obstacles along the route that small children can also enjoy. Experienced and non-experienced runners can also enjoy the 4K Fun Run challenge. The 10K Run is for more experienced runners and is a great pre-event for runners interested in participating in marathon races set for later this year. Speed walkers may opt to participate in the 10K Run.
The post-run celebration will feature an awards ceremony and entertainment by Ding Dong and Kevin Downswell.
Featuring MyLaps BibTag Timing, participants will be treated to premium runner care and special post-race activities.
